Prime minister Narendra Modi started speaking on COVID-19 situation, and said the world has been battling the pandemic for over four months now. Over 3 lakh people have succumbed to the infection, he says, condoling the deaths.

PM Modi said that one virus has destroyed the world, infecting more than 42 lakh people. But "we will not give up or accept defeat," he said.

Prime Minister Modi lauded the country's effort in dealing with the pandemic. He said the country has turned the tragedy into an opportunity. "Before the outbreak, we didn't have PPE or enough N95 masks, now we have at least 2 lakh of protective equipments," he said.

PM Narendra Modi has announce a special economic package. "This will play an important role in the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan'. The announcements made by the government over COVID, decisions of RBI & today's package totals to Rs 20 Lakh Crores. This is 10% of India's GDP," he said.

13.    PM Modi's address to nation: Special economic package is for labourers, farmers
PM Modi said from tomorrow Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will announce details of special economic package. "Special economic package is for our labourers, farmers, honest tax payers, MSMEs and cottage industry. Beginning Wednesday, finance minister will announce details of special economic package."
14.     20 lakh crore economic package for India: PM Modi
An economic package worth Rs 20 lakh crore or 10% of the GDP has been announced to enable a foothold for the country's economic self reliance. "I announce a special economic package today. This will play an important role in the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan'. The announcements made by the govt over COVID, decisions of RBI & today's package totals to Rs 20 cakh crores. 15.     Not a single PPE was manufactured in India before outbreak, today we're making 2 lakh PPE: PM Modi
When the coronavirus crisis started then not even a single PPE kit was manufactured in India, only a few N95 masks were available. Today 2 Lakh PPE kits and 2 Lakh N95 masks are manufactured in India daily: PM Narendra Modi
16.      India moving towards self-sufficiency in PPEs and N95 Masks
India is now making 200,000 PPEs and 200,000 N95 masks daily, says PM Modi. "Earlier we were not making any PPEs and hardly any masks," PM says.

I congratulate all Indian citizens,” said PM Modi.
